At the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania, on July 12, 2022, the international conference "Rebuilding Ukraine" was held in Vilnius. During the conference, political figures, representatives of business and the expert community discussed plans for the restoration of Ukraine.
As one of Ukraine's closest partners, Lithuania calls on all those who care about the future of Ukraine to resolutely take up the restoration of the country's destroyed infrastructure.
Another important topic is the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, which is associated not only with the reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure, but also with the modernization of institutions and economic recovery. A platform and a new financial instrument "Rebuilt Ukraine facility" should be created, which will consolidate all support, including that provided by international institutions and member states of the European Union.
The Conference was attended by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, Minister of Economy and Innovation Aušrinė Armonaitė, Chancellor of the Government Giedrė Balčytytė and other representatives of the public sector of Ukraine and Lithuania, representatives of Lithuanian business and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
